University of Florida DCP Industry Expo

Cotleur & Hearing recently attended the University of Florida College of Design, Construction, and Planning Industry Expo and Career Fair in Gainesville. The firm has participated in this event for more than a decade and continues to make it an important part of its annual recruiting efforts.

Don Hearing, Suzanne Hearing, and Hayden Bertone represented the firm, meeting with students interested in landscape architecture, land planning, architecture, and related disciplines. Discussions focused on projects currently underway through the Jupiter headquarters and Orlando office, as well as internship and entry-level opportunities within the firm.

A recent UF graduate himself, Hayden noted the exceptional professionalism of the students and the remarkable quality of work being produced within the program. The portfolios on display were thoughtfully curated and reflective of the strong design foundation students are developing. Hayden also connected with students across multiple disciplines, including first- and second-year architecture and planning students, introducing many of them to the field of landscape architecture. Our booth received numerous compliments on its presentation, featuring banners of past projects and a plant display curated by Suzanne for guests to take home. The display drew attention not only from students but also from fellow recruiters and faculty.

The University of Florida remains an important source of future team members. Over the years, Cotleur & Hearing has hired many graduates from the program and maintained steady involvement with the College of Design, Construction and Planning. Attending the Career Fair allows the firm to stay engaged with the academic community while building meaningful connections with the next generation of design professionals. Cotleur & Hearing looks forward to continuing its involvement with the university and identifying future additions to the team.
