Job Title: Golf Division Director/Senior Manager

Cotleur & Hearing is seeking a senior-level professional to lead and advance the Cotleur & Hearing Golf Division, a specialized practice area focused on golf, private club, recreation, and high-end landscape architecture projects throughout Florida.  This position is based in Cotleur & Hearing’s Jupiter, Florida office and will require regular travel for site visits, client meetings, OAC meetings, and project coordination at active golf and private club projects throughout South Florida and the west coast of Florida, typically on a weekly basis.

This is a rare opportunity to take a leadership role in a growing golf-focused division within an established Florida landscape architecture firm. The right candidate will step into an active portfolio of private club and golf projects, work directly with respected clubs and Cotleur & Hearing firm leadership, and collaborate with our experienced planning, design, environmental, and project management team to advance thoughtful, high-quality projects from early planning and design through construction.

The right candidate will bring strong design judgment, technical knowledge, organization, field experience, and professional credibility to the role. This position is ideal for someone who understands the expectations of private club work, values strong client relationships, and is excited to advance a specialized practice area within Cotleur & Hearing.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Leading golf, private club, recreation, and landscape architecture projects from concept through construction.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for club leadership, golf course architects, superintendents, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Providing design direction, technical oversight, and practical project guidance throughout each phase of work.
  • Coordinating site plans, landscape plans, exhibits, sketches, field notes, permitting materials, construction documents, and presentation graphics.
  • Attending OAC meetings, leading project coordination discussions, and representing Cotleur & Hearing with professionalism and follow-through.
  • Walking project sites, reviewing field conditions, documenting issues, and helping resolve construction-related item.
  • Supporting driving range, short game area, practice facility, clubhouse-area, landscape, recreation, and other club improvement projects.
  • Providing creative design ideas that are practical, buildable, and appropriate for private club work.
  • Supporting construction administration, site observation, landscape coordination, and project follow-through.
  • Mentoring and supporting internal staff assigned to golf and private club projects.
  • Helping establish systems, standards, and processes for the continued growth of the Cotleur & Hearing Golf Division.
  • Traveling regularly to active golf and private club project sites, including local South Florida clubs and west coast Florida club projects, typically on a weekly basis.
What we are looking for:
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience preferred, with flexibility for candidates who bring strong golf, private club, construction, or field coordination experience.
  • Senior-level experience in landscape architecture, golf, private club, recreation, resort, or high-end landscape projects strongly preferred.
  • A genuine interest in golf, private clubs, and the details that make these projects successful.
  • Strong design skills with the ability to think creatively, practically, and with an understanding of how projects are built.
  • Strong understanding of landscape architecture, site planning, permitting, construction administration, and field coordination.
  • Ability to lead multiple active projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
