Project Approval: Gordy Creek
Cotleur & Hearing is pleased to share that Gordy Creek, a new mixed-use community in Fort Pierce, has received final PD approval. Our team led the site planning and entitlement efforts, working collaboratively with the project team and City staff to bring the vision to fruition.
The approved development will introduce 316 residential units within a thoughtfully planned mixed-use setting, designed to support both community living and long-term regional growth. The site plan emphasizes environmental stewardship, a cohesive layout, and integrated landscape design, creating a balanced and functional environment for future residents.
A defining feature of the project is its preservation component, which includes passive trails and scenic overlooks. The plan protects 17.4 acres of wetlands surrounding the Ten Mile Creek corridor, establishing a significant conservation area as an integral part of the overall development. Carefully designed opportunities to experience the landscape are positioned along the upland edges, allowing residents to engage with and view the preserved habitat without disturbing sensitive environmental areas. This approach reinforces a strong connection between the built environment and the site’s natural systems while ensuring long-term ecological preservation.
Gordy Creek reflects a commitment to responsible development, with careful consideration given to how the project fits within the surrounding area while contributing to the continued evolution of Fort Pierce. Through a coordinated entitlement process and strong collaboration among all stakeholders, the project stands as another example of successful planning that adds lasting value to the community.
