Approval Update: Creekside Hotel & Retail
Creekside Hotel & Retail is an exciting new project coming soon to Stuart, Florida. The project site is located adjacent to Colorado Avenue in Downtown Stuart. On Monday, January 8th, the Stuart City Commission approved the site plan and conditional use permit that allowed this project to move forward. The site features a Tru by Hilton hotel and a split-use retail and restaurant building along Colorado Avenue.
The property is in the Creek District neighborhood, which is known as the arts & entertainment district of Stuart. With this in mind, Cotleur & Hearing incorporated numerous public art opportunities into the overall design to promote compatibility with the Creek District. Additionally, the site includes permeable pavers, increased setbacks from Frazier Creek, and the preservation of mature oak trees along Colorado Avenue as ways to enhance the pedestrian environment and encourage low-impact design features. The project will make use of an existing parking garage in the financial center plaza where the property is located, which exemplifies smart planning practices by using existing, underutilized infrastructure.
Cotleur & Hearing's involvement in the project includes processing the applications for major development plans and the major conditional use permit, creating the site and landscape plans, and coordinating between team members and the City of Stuart to move this project across the finish line. We are thrilled to be a part of such an impactful project in the City of Stuart that will create synergy within the Creek District and add vibrancy to an already bustling Downtown Stuart!
