Cotleur & Hearing has been honored with an Award of Merit from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Florida Chapter for its outstanding work on the Crosstown Parkway Plaza in the City of Port St. Lucie, Florida. The award was presented during the ASLA Florida Chapter’s Red Carpet Awards Gala, held earlier this month at the World Center Marriott in Orlando.
The one-acre public plaza was recognized for its thoughtful and symbolic design, which creates a vibrant and welcoming space for both residents and visitors. The plaza features locally inspired elements such as Snook Fish and Manatee aquatic pavers, and dynamic pineapple structures that reflect the region’s natural habitat and cultural identity. Designed to be enjoyed both day and night, the space offers a variety of recreational opportunities that encourage community connection and interaction with nature.
This recognition highlights Cotleur & Hearing’s commitment to innovative, place-based landscape architecture that enhances public spaces and celebrates local character.
Cotleur and Hearing’s Associate Partner Leah Heinzelmann co-hosted the event as president of the chapter, and our Landscape Designer Phoebe Prentner served as the Gala chair. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the profession of landscape architecture and the well-deserved awards given to firms and individuals.
