Bermudiana Shopping Plaza

About the Project

Bermudiana is a five-acre commercial project located on the east side of Military Trail at the intersection of University Drive within the town of Jupiter. The site was attractive to Cotleur & Hearing Investments as it was the last remaining retail commercial site within the town of Jupiter from Donald Ross Road to Indiantown Road. The site design organizes the buildings towards Military Trail and University Drive and creates an entry gate to the prestigious New Haven residential neighborhood. Four, one and two-story buildings are organized on the street in a way that encourages pedestrian interaction and minimizes the visual impact of the parking.

Courtyards, plazas and outdoor seating areas were created between buildings by the juxtaposition of building walls and outdoor covered patios. Bermuda and Anglo-Caribbean architectural styles are complimentary to the adjacent commercial development and helps to reinforce the “island-tropical” feeling. Lush tropical landscaping added to this mood with an abundance of palm-tree species. Careful attention was given to the type and placement of signage which provides identification for retailers and enhances the overall expression of the development. Bermudiana will set a new standard for retail development within the town of Jupiter and was completed in 2007. Iconic Jupiter restaurants Carmine’s, Leftovers and 3 Natives all call Bermudiana home.
