Verano Recreation Center – Talavera

About the Project

Cotleur & Hearing was retained by Kolter Homes to develop a site plan and landscape architecture for the central recreation facility, to be located within the acclaimed Verano Community in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The recreation facility, known as Talavera supports an indoor Olympic and outdoor resort swimming pools, tennis courts, bocce ball courts, fitness center and a community activity building. Talavera is sited central to the community, taking advantage of spectacular views overlooking the award winning golf course. The project was designed to mimic and reinforce an authentic Italian countryside villa. Cotleur & Hearing’s design exceeded the client and the residents’ expectations and resulted in increased sales momentum for the Verano Community during a trying economic cycle. Major landscape materials included countryside character oak trees, Italian cypress, spartan junipers, yews and a host of flowering accents which include red bush roses, pentas, jatropha and bougainvillea.
