Aaron Wilbur began his career in 2009 at Cottage Gardens Inc, a residential design-build firm located in Gainesville, Florida. At Cottage Gardens, Aaron functioned as project manager and lead designer. Aaron received his first taste of streetscape design in 2012 when he was selected by the Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency to design the landscape and hardscape for the 13th Street Medians adjacent to the University of Florida campus, which still stand today. In March of 2013, Aaron joined the Cotleur & Hearing team and quickly transitioned to the firm’s Transportation Division. Over the years, Aaron has developed expertise in FDOT project management, the FDOT phase submittal processes, and FDOT’s standards and specifications. His many years of experience working on FDOT projects, including the management of several In-House Support and Continuing Services contracts, have helped him successfully deliver numerous projects to FDOT on time and on budget. He has had the opportunity to manage all types of transportation landscape architecture projects, including roadway component projects, standalone landscape projects, and PD&E studies.

Aaron brings the ability to quickly adapt to new types of projects and challenges and is constantly pursuing new opportunities to grow the firm’s public sector portfolio. He is also an expert in the south Florida Nursery industry and has significant experience providing construction administration and post-design services.

In January 2019, Aaron joined Principals Robert Cotleur and Don Hearing as a Partner at the Firm providing continuity in management and ensuring the firm’s future success. He currently serves as the Transportation Manager overseeing all contracts and projects within CH’s Transportation Division. In 2025, he was elected to the role of co-president of the firm with Partner Nicole Plunkett and looks to carry on the legacy started by the founding Principals.
