Wellington Sports Academy Breaks Ground at Village Park

A new era of athletic excellence is coming to Wellington with the official groundbreaking of the Wellington Sports Academy on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Village Park. This highly anticipated project is a public-private partnership between the Village of Wellington and Wellington Athletics, led by 10-year NFL veteran and Palm Beach Central High School alumnus Jon Bostic. Bostic, a former University of Florida linebacker, is channeling his professional experience and passion for sports development to bring world-class athletic training to local youth.

The Wellington Sports Academy aims to offer elite training across multiple sports, helping young athletes reach their full potential. Key team members in the project include Cotleur & Hearing, responsible for site planning and landscape design; Birse Thomas, leading architectural design; Kimley-Horn, overseeing traffic and civil engineering; and Gunster, serving as general counsel. Verdex Construction is managing the construction of the state-of-the-art facility. With construction underway, the Wellington Sports Academy is slated to open in Fall 2025. Once completed, it will serve as a premier destination for athletic development, offering young athletes access to top-tier training and facilities right in their own community.
