Wellington Sports Academy Reaches Major Milestone

Earlier this month, the Wellington Sports Academy celebrated a significant construction milestone with a Topping Out luncheon, bringing together the design and construction teams, Village of Wellington staff, and elected officials. The event marked the placement of the final structural beam—a time-honored tradition symbolizing progress and partnership on this transformative community project. Cotleur & Hearing is proud to be part of a talented team of professionals, including Gunster, Birse Thomas Architects, and Kimley-Horn, working collaboratively through a public-private partnership (P3) with the Village of Wellington and Wellington Athletics, LLC. Our team is providing land planning, entitlement, and landscape architectural services for the development of the 112,000-square-foot indoor athletic facility, which is currently under construction and scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Spearheaded by former NFL player and Wellington native Jon Bostic, the Wellington Sports Academy is designed to support athletes of all ages and skill levels. The state-of-the-art facility will feature basketball and volleyball courts, batting cages, performance and weight training areas, a cheerleading gym, wellness and recovery spaces, an e-sports lounge, and a full-service café. It will also include dedicated areas for physical therapy and orthopedic services, making it a comprehensive hub for training, recovery, and competition. Cotleur & Hearing is honored to support a project that not only expands access to high-quality athletic facilities but also invests in the health, wellness, and future of the Wellington community.
